Ponds Ford International swimming venue has established itself as a centre for excellence in the swimming
fraternity. The facilities are second to none and this reflects in the level of competition that the pool supports.
At
City Lodgings we have been lucky enough to provide
accommodation for the athletes and their families throughout all
the events this year. Our
Corporation Buildings proximity to Ponds Forge ( 5 minute walk) makes it an ideal location for competitors.
We are already filling up for competitions in January, March/April and July/August. With a raft of repeat bookings from earlier this
year we are quickly running out of space for these slots. If you anticipate needing an
apartment around this time, you need to get in
quickly to ensure you take advantage of our location.
Another event synonymous with Sheffield is the World Snooker Championships at the Crucible Theater. (17th April - 3rd May).
For the last couple of years we have providedaccommodation for the camera crews and associated staff. Again this is an extremely busy
time for us so to avoid missing out it is wise to get in early. Ourcity centre location makes it a short stroll for any snooker fan to the
Crucible (5 mins walk ). Or if you prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle of the town, we haveapartments away from thecity centre but
close to the ring road allowing easy access into the city.
As a part of a service industry
City Lodgings is constantly trying to find ways to improve our guests overall
experience. Most people find us online and we consider ourselves very much a web based business (although we operate
in the hospitality industry). Having identified this fact from the start, it was very important to us to provide a website
that was clear and concise and not overwhelming for the user. Information you require in 1 click rather than trawling pages to
get a price. We wanted to express and friendly and homely feel to the site which we hoped would translate to peoples feelings about
us as a company. We consider ourselves a personable bunch and approachable too. Not a faceless corporate entity. It isn’t uncommon
to find one of our directors with a mop and bucket, changing bed linen or personally greeting guests at their arrival. We know
people remember good friendly service and without it, even a great
apartment leaves you feeling you only had half the experience.
User experience isn’t just about theapartment you stay in. It begins when you first visit our website, the ease with
which you find an appropriateapartment, your contact with our staff at thebooking stage and when you are greeted, your stay and finally your
check out. We aim to make all of this as smooth and friendly as possible. That is why we are installing anonline booking facility which
links directly to ourbooking calendar. Very soon you will be able to find and book yourapartment with the minimum of effort. You will
still be greeted by our friendly staff on your arrival and we’ll be there for you throughout your stay.
Weekend and out of hours arrivals have meant we have had to provide staff to meet guests at all kinds of hours.
It isn’t always the case that people can give an estimated time of arrival. No one can legislate for a flight delay or heavy traffic,
but in a few weeks we will also be able to provide an automated key dispensary. Hopefully this will alleviate some of your travel stress.
All you will need is a code which will be provided on your booking confirmation. Also look out for slight changes to the appearance of the
City Lodgings website in the New Year. We feel it is important to keep things fresh and implementing these changes to our operating systems
will hopefully serve to provide our guests with a complete and hassle free experience.
We’re sure by now everyone is fairly fed up with the doom and gloom of the economic climate. We are tired of having to consider cut backs and thrifty measures to compensate for the lack of cash in our pockets. It seems nothing is affordable anymore and the life we were living a year ago seems a distant and fantastical memory. Well its possible we could bring a little of last year back.

No matter where you stay in the UK, town centre parking is always an issue, and with councils increasingly limiting traffic in city centers, prices are high and spaces are at a premium. You can expect to pay anywhere between £15.00 and £50.00 for the privilege, and usually you will find you are paying the top price after 4 hours regardless of if you are there all day or not.
Well fear not intrepid traveler!City Lodgings has been working with QPark for about a year now and we have now finalized our operating procedure to make it as user friendly as possible. All our guests will be given a voucher which can be inserted into the pay point when you exit the car park. This will immediately discount your parking to £5.00 per day irrespective of the charge. (you will need a new voucher for each new day, which our staff at reception will be happy to provide you with)
The nearest QPark to ourtown centre site is literally a minutes walk away. We hope this gives you, our guests a little peace of mind.
